Changi Airport Terminal 3

(Kids Wonderlands)

Changi Airport T3 has a lot of activities that are suitable for kids. It is a good hang out place during weekend and a good choose to avoid the heat wave outdoor. It compromise of foods, shops, and play areas that can occupy the kids for the whole day.

My 3 kids (age 7, 5 & 3) enjoyed playing in T3, every now and then, they will request to go there.

They especially like the latest attraction there, slide@T3.

There are 2 slides.

One is shorter, for younger kids or less adventurous person, located at basement 2. It is about one-and-a-half storey tall and is free. There is no staff on duty there, thus it is the responsibility of the parents and kids to take care of themselves. The slide admits 1 person at a time (although there are kids manage to squeeze in more than one at a time). The push bar is only activated when the lights turn green, that is when the person in front gets out of the slide. But do be careful in the push bar area, as I had seen kids standing in the push bar line and got knock. It can be quite painful as the bar is heavy. Although it stated that the minimum height is 1.1 metres tall, but there are kids below that sliding down. My 3 years old boy also tried it and he enjoyed himself very much. He will quickly joined back the queue after slides down and kept saying, ‘one more time, OK?’.

Another Slide is located at level 1 (Arrival Hall). It stands at a height of 12 metres or four storeys tall. You need to spend at least $10 in any single receipt to redeem the entry to the slide. Simply present the receipt to the basement 2 customer service counter, where the staff will chop and sign on the receipt. For every $10, you are entitled to one entry, so if the receipt is $22, you can play two times and so on... For this, I don’t let my youngest son try it; it is a bit too high for his age, but my eldest son and girl, do enjoyed it very much.

Playgrounds

T3 has 3 playgrounds for the kids to stop over and enjoyed. There are located at

1) Next to SATS Special Service Lounge at Departure Transit Lounge Central, Level 2
2) Outside gate holdroom A16 - A20 at Departure Transit Lounge South, Level 2
3) Next to water fountain at B2 Mall, Public area

My Kids used to hop from one playground to another everytime we went to Changi Airport, but now it is more on the slide and the Arcade. J
Woodblock Rub Area

Beside the water fountain at B2 mall, there is a scratch area, where you can make your own woodblock print with icons inspired by popular culture of Singapore. Just place the paper at the woodblock and rub it gently, you will see the picture transformed to the paper. My girl loves this section a lot. As she is too short, she will always climbed and sat on the table for the art work. Papers and crayons are provided free. The papers are recycled paper, you can use as many as you like and bring the arts home after finished or leave the papers there for recycling.

Kids corner

Beside the Woodblock Rub Area, is the Kids corner. There is a big TV showing cartoon programme mainly from cartoon Network. There is a also a floor mat in front of the TV, so that kids (even adult) can sit down/lay down and relax while watching TV.

Shops

There are a lot of shops along the T3, and even better, most of the shops are absorbing the 7% GST.

Food

The prices in the food court are quite reasonable with a wide range of food to choose from. There are also fast food like MacDonald, Popeye, Subway etc to satisfy the kids’ crave. My kids like to dine at Popeye, as there are 2 TVs in the shop showing ‘Toms & Jerry’, their favourite.

Other activities

The Airport will also organise other activities for certain special festival periods or events. Like last year Christmas, they have brought in a huge bounding castle and also sport activities during YOG.

There are others things not mentioned here, will add on and enhance sometime later.

However, uou may also want to explore yourselves with your kids next time.
