Woodlands Waterfront Park I ~Multi-Generation Playground

[Kids Wonderlands]

Woodlands Waterfront Park has becoming one of the favourite hangout places for residents staying in North part of Singapore since it officially opened in Jan 2011. It comprises of 9ha coastal park and a 1.5 km-long waterfront promenade and is located at the junction of Admiralty Road and Admiralty Road West.

One can take SMRT bus services 856 from Woodlands Bus Interchange, which stop at Admiralty Road and walk the remaining distance to the coastal promenade, or drive and park at the Woodlands Waterfront carpark.

 

Upon reaching there, you will not miss the Multi-Generation Playground which is located to the right of the main entrance. At the playground, the first thing that catches your attention is the unique two storey high bridge which is placed at the centre of the playground.  

It is made of meshed rope, called a “skywalk” and a stationary skating system which even adults can use. There are many entries and exits to the bridge, which different scale of difficulty. Thus, one can choose the type of adventurous that they want to challenge with.

  

Surrounding the bridges are various facilities and fitness equipment for residents of all age groups.

On one side are the traditional swings. It is very popular among the small and big kids. But as there are only limited swings, kids will automatically form queues and wait for their turn.

Next to it are various play stations that the kids can spare their energy on it.

There are also some fitness equipments there. Adults can do a bit of movement while watching their kids running about at the playground. 

 

 

Feel tired standing under the big sun? Not to worry, there are quite a number of benches or shelter areas that enable you to take a rest. You can even plan for a picnic there. Usually during weekend, you can see families/ relatives or friends, bringing in their own foods and spend the whole evening there.

For younger kids, they can enjoy themselves at the kid’s playground area, which comprises of slides, rope climbing, playhouse etc.

 

At the park here, the surrounding is so great that you can really relax. When you look up, the sky is clear, and when you look far, there is a lot of greenery. It is a also a good spot for cycling and kites flying.
